A dynamic
teacher is the best way to describe Erika Serhus Hook! She’s
creative, understanding and always exploring new ways
of presenting concepts to her students. Building strong rapports
and connecting with young people are her strongest assets. Erika
is definitely not your “average” teacher. In 1997, she was
voted Teacher of the Year at Kealing Middle School.
A mother of
two and a former AISD teacher, Erika understands the importance of effective
communication amongst parents, students and teachers. She bridges the
gap by bringing all parties together, finding solutions that promote student
achievement.
A “life
long learner,” Erika continues her education by traveling and
studying in many countries such as Spain, Chile, Bolivia, Guatemala and
Mexico. She earned a degree in Applied Learning & Development and
Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin and attended the University
of Alicante in Spain.
Being a second
language learner, Erika understands first hand the struggles of learning
Spanish and can share her twenty plus years of experience with
you!
